China und UK: funktionale Kausnacks sind Futtermittel, keine Arzneimittel
Kurzantwort
China und das Vereinigte Königreich regulieren funktionale Haustierernährung als Futtermittel, nicht als Human-Supplement und nicht als Tierarzneimittel. Krankheitsclaims sind die rote Linie. Land in Woche eins nennen. Beno hält die Jiangsu-Futtermittellizenz 苏饲预(2026)12006. Zwei Märkte heißen meist zwei Etiketten.

In China and the UK a functional chew is judged as feed, not as a human dietary supplement and not as a veterinary medicine. Waving "GMP" as a personality trait does not replace that. Once the carton talks like a diagnosis, you have a different problem.
I am not your counsel in Beijing or London. This is how a plant in Shenzhen answers the brief when you name those countries. Official starting points: China's enterprise record on GSXT; UK FSA pet food guidance; UK animal feed legislation; EU Regulation 767/2009 on placing feed on the market (still the claim logic UK businesses get pointed to); FEDIAF for industry nutrition and labelling practice in Europe.

Feed, not medicine
China manages pet food as pet feed under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs framework. Complete feed, additive premix feed, and other pet feed are different buckets. A daily kibble and a vitamin chew do not share every rule. Disease prevention and treatment claims on feed are the red line.
The UK treats pet food as animal feed. The Food Standards Agency and local authorities (Trading Standards) sit on businesses that make or sell it. Registration of the feed business is a UK-side job for the brand or the importer, not a sticker we print in Shenzhen.
Our domestic manufacturing permission for pet additive premixed feed is Jiangsu feed licence 苏饲预(2026)12006 (26 April 2026 to 25 April 2031). Foreign buyers rarely ask for it first. Quality teams sometimes do. Have the PDF. Legal name Shenzhen Enbeichong Co., Ltd., code 91321283MA1MR5HB8P.
Ingredients are a catalogue problem
China works from permitted feed materials and additives. A trendy botanical that sells on Amazon US is not automatically legal in a Chinese feed formula. Probiotics in particular are strain-list problems. If China is a destination, say so in week one. We will not discover a banned strain at the dock.
The UK and EU work from authorised additives and safety rules. "Unsafe feed cannot be placed on the market" is the FSA's plain version. FEDIAF nutritional guidelines are what many European brands use as the complete-diet reference. A complementary chew on top of complete feed is not a licence to overdose vitamin A.
What you can say
China: nutritional and certain function claims that you can support. Not "prevents kidney disease."
UK / EU: Regulation 767/2009 Article 13 is the sentence lawyers actually quote. Claims must be objective, verifiable, and understandable. "Supports joint mobility" is a different universe from "treats arthritis."
Direct translation of a US Amazon bullet into Chinese or English-UK is how listings die. Name the country in the brief so artwork is a compliance pass, not a copy deck.
Labels are documents
China expects official ingredient naming, descending order by weight, and claimed ingredients actually declared. The UK expects category, analytical constituents, additives where required, feeding instructions, batch identification, and a responsible operator. Batch codes have to match the COA. See how to read a COA.
If you sell both markets, plan two labels. One bilingual PDF is not two legal labels.
US rules are a third file: does the FDA regulate pet supplements.
Send the country list first. Inquiry.

Häufige Fragen
- Does GMP replace feed-law labelling?
- No. GMP is how the plant is run. China catalogue rules, UK FSA guidance and EU Regulation 767/2009 decide what you can put in and what you can say. They are different files.
- Can I use one bilingual label for China and the UK?
- Plan two labels. Official ingredient names, analytical constituents and the responsible operator are not a font exercise. Direct translation of a US Amazon bullet is how listings die.
- What Chinese licence should a buyer ask for?
- Our pet additive premixed feed permission is Jiangsu feed licence 苏饲预(2026)12006. Legal name Shenzhen Enbeichong Co., Ltd., code 91321283MA1MR5HB8P. Confirm on GSXT. UK feed-business registration sits with the brand or importer, not as a sticker we print in Shenzhen.
- What claims are allowed on a functional pet chew in the UK and EU?
- Regulation 767/2009 Article 13 is the sentence lawyers actually quote: claims must be objective, verifiable and understandable. Supports joint mobility is a different universe from treats arthritis. In China, nutritional and certain function claims you can support are fine, but prevents kidney disease is not.
- Can any botanical or probiotic strain go into a chew sold in China?
- No. China works from permitted feed materials and additives, so a trendy botanical that sells on Amazon US is not automatically legal in a Chinese feed formula. Probiotics in particular are strain-list problems. Name China as a destination in week one rather than discovering a banned strain at the dock.
- How does China classify pet feed products?
- China manages pet food as pet feed under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs framework. Complete feed, additive premix feed and other pet feed are different buckets, so a daily kibble and a vitamin chew do not share every rule. Disease prevention and treatment claims on feed are the red line.
