The first mistake is emailing a factory to say "I want a dog multi chew" as if that were a SKU. It is a category. Adult vs puppy, US vs EU, grocery price vs premium, ten numbered functions vs a breed carton. Those choices change the premix before anyone talks about a pouch.
I write this from Shenzhen Enbeichong. We already run two stock chews you can private-label: 10-in-1 multivitamin chews for the volume listing, and 8-in-1 multivitamin chews when the brand story is a breed community rather than a longer ingredient list. The difference is mostly how the panel is described, not a secret second matrix.

Write the brief before you shop factories
A usable brief for a multi is shorter than a novel and longer than a slogan.
Who is the dog: adult, senior, puppy, large breed. Puppy and large-breed feeding tables are not a font change.
Where it sells: United States, EU, UK, or a list. Vitamins A and D3 have maximum permitted levels in EU feed. Most dogs already eat a complete diet, so we keep the formula conservative rather than "high potency" theatre.
Price tier: grocery shoppers compare count and cost per chew. A breed-targeted carton can sit above that without adding ten extra actives.
What the name promises. "10-in-1" is a labelling obligation. Whatever appears in the name has to be traceable to declared groups on the panel. A small pouch gets crowded. If you cannot fit the groups, change the name, not the font size.
If you skip those four, you get a generic chew that competes only on price. That is a race we will not pretend to win for you.
What the chew matrix will not forgive
Heat, moisture and bitterness cap the wish list.
Some B vitamins lose potency in a thermal step. We plan overage so the dated panel is still true. There is a ceiling. If the overage makes the piece huge or the quote stupid, that active belongs in a powder, not in this chew.
Mineral premixes taste bitter. A multi needs more palatant than a single-active joint chew. Kelp plus turmeric plus spirulina at "hero" levels is how you get a piece the office dog refuses. We would rather cut the list than ship a chew that becomes a bowl ornament.
Calcium and magnesium at high inclusion make a piece gritty. Fibre dries it out over shelf life. Every extra "wellness" line item is a texture problem, not a free marketing bullet.
Live probiotics do not automatically belong in the same piece. If CFU is the story, that is the probiotic OEM article, not a 15th line on a multi.
Two stock paths, not fifteen custom vitamins
10-in-1 is the entry SKU. Low reference cost, wide search, thin margin per unit. Brands use it to win the first click and then upsell joint, coat or calming at a higher ticket. That is a range plan, not a moral failing.

8-in-1 is the same daily idea with a breed-shaped carton. In the US, feed registration is often handled per product name and per state. Five breed names can multiply paperwork even when the chew inside is identical. Keep the serving table on bodyweight, not on "French Bulldog vs Golden." The chew does not know the Instagram account.
Custom ODM is for when the catalogue cannot hit a market rule or a flavour you already sell. It is not for "exclusive 18-in-1" on a 500-unit test. Stock chews here start at 500 units. Samples 7 to 15 days. First branded project 8 to 14 weeks. Full custom work with stability loops is a 3 to 6 month job, not this path. See private label vs custom.
Claims we will not print
"Replaces a complete diet." "Treats deficiency disease." "Vet formulated" without a document. A multi on top of kibble is a daily habit SKU. AAFCO model pet-food labelling is the US reference many states still use: aafco.org. EU numbers belong in the brief, not as a surprise at artwork.
Put demographic, market and whether you want 10-in-1 or 8-in-1 on the inquiry form. If you only needed the brief questions, you already have them.

Questions fréquentes
- Is there one standard dog multivitamin formula?
- No. Adult, puppy, senior and large-breed feeding tables differ. US, EU and UK rules differ on vitamin A and D3 maxima. A grocery 10-in-1 and a breed-targeted 8-in-1 are labelling choices, not two secret matrices.
- Can I add probiotics, kelp, turmeric and spirulina to the same chew?
- Usually not at hero levels. Heat, bitterness and texture cap the list. Live CFU belongs on a probiotic SKU, not as a 15th line on a multi. We would rather cut the list than ship a chew dogs refuse.
- What is the MOQ for Beno multivitamin chews?
- Stock 10-in-1 and 8-in-1 chews start at 500 units per SKU. Samples 7 to 15 days. First branded project 8 to 14 weeks. Custom ODM with stability loops is a longer job.
- What should a dog multivitamin OEM brief include?
- Four lines: who the dog is (adult, senior, puppy, large breed), where it sells, the price tier, and what the name promises. Puppy and large-breed feeding tables are not a font change, and whatever appears in the name has to be traceable to declared groups on the panel. Skip those and you get a generic chew that competes only on price.
- Why do some B vitamins need an overage in a soft chew?
- Some B vitamins lose potency in a thermal step, so we plan overage to keep the dated panel true through shelf life. There is a ceiling. If the overage makes the piece huge or the quote stupid, that active belongs in a powder rather than in this chew.
- Does a breed-targeted 8-in-1 carton create extra paperwork?
- It can. In the US, feed registration is often handled per product name and per state, so five breed names can multiply paperwork even when the chew inside is identical. Keep the serving table on bodyweight rather than on breed. The chew does not know the Instagram account.
